The "Chang'an" International Freight Train is the first international freight train from Shaanxi Province. The overall plan of the "Chang'an" International Freight Train consists of a main line and two branches. The main line runs from Xi'an to Rotterdam, spanning 9850 kilometers. The two branches include Xi'an to Moscow at 7251 kilometers, Xi'an to Kazakhstan (Almaty at 3866 kilometers with a 6-day runtime; Khorgos at 5027 kilometers with a 10-day runtime).

China Railway Corporation officially issued a telegram to operate the "Chang'an" International Freight Train, confirming its international train number as 80807. The container train started on November 28, 2013, at 10:00 am, followed by a full wagon train on November 29 at the same time. This train has become a key route on the Silk Road Economic Belt. On May 21, 2018, the "Chang'an" China-Europe Express Cross-border E-commerce Logistics Special Train arrived at Xi'an Railway Container Center. The first cross-border e-commerce logistics special train of the China-Europe Express "Chang'an," originating from Hamburg, Germany, entered Xi'an Railway Container Center at Xi'an International Port Area on the same day.

In 2017, the Chang'an China-Europe Express operated 194 trains for the year, ranking 17th in the country for total annual operations. By October 30, 2018, the Chang'an China-Europe Express had operated 1030 trains, achieving a load factor of 99.9%.

On January 17, the "Chang'an" International Freight Train departed from Xi'an Port towards Kouvola, Finland, covering a distance of 9110 kilometers. This train was jointly organized by Xi'an International Port Land Port Group, Kouvola Reform Group in Finland, and Kazakhstan Railways. It marks the first intermodal railway route between China and Northern Europe. The operation of this train connects Northern Europe with Asia, establishes new routes for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, boosts economic and trade relations, and facilitates cultural exchanges between China and Europe, contributing to the goals of the "Belt and Road" initiative. Currently, this train has completed two outbound trips and two return trips.
